Our very good friend, DJ Bumbaclot, aka Andrew Veeder, created another mix and we just had to put it up here. It was made for Tadpole Audio, which is a great music blog you guys should also get into.
“Sotto, you may like this mix. It’s pretty dark. It’s sort of about death. It’s about death.”
And I was like: “Sold.”
Check that TL. Of course I love it.
Actually, Veedz explains the mix very eloquently in his interview and even quotes Milton (bonus points):DJ Bumbaclot’s interview on Tadpole Audio
Much love,

Guest Mix 004
I grew up with Pablo in Pasadena. He knows a lot about punk and hardcore, and after all of these years, he’s definitely the person you ask for information on bands new and old. Trust me, he’s got that 7” you’ve been digging for. And yeah, he saw that band in 2001. That’s right. THAT’S RIGHT.
He’s also a very stylish gent and dresses in a preppy way, in the best way. On the outset, you’d never know that we’re close friends. I don’t think he owns any black t-shirts anymore.
And yes, that is a lot of alliteration. Pablo the Preppy Punk-loving guy. Ok, I’m done teasing him.
Here’s a shortened/edited version of a mix he gave to our dear DJ Bumbaclot a couple of months ago. I split it up into two volumes, because it’s a lot of music. A lot of good music. Volume 2 will be posted tomorrow.
Stare deeply into our psychosis:
Enjoy!

Well this was supposed to be a 30 min minimix but i guess I got carried away. I’m fortunate to get sent a lot of awesome music from a variety of differnt producers and labels but sadly, I don’t get a chance to play out a lot of the moodier, more soulful side of dubstep. This isn’t really representative of my live sets, it’s just me at home having some fun with good music, both old and new. Thanks for listening.

Hey!! I’m super stoked to share an E/W NumberNin6 mix with you! Nishant’s a good friend of mine and one of my favorite producers. He is one of those rare dubstep artists that can create filthy, gnarly bass drops as well as beautiful, deep, melodies. Keep an eye out for Garbage and Hunt You Down, his upcoming releases off subHUMAN.

What the what! Here at Eastside/Westside, we hope to wrangle our friends and affiliates in to do guest DJ mixes for us. Why? Because uhhh, they rule as friends & musicians & musicheads, they’re super-fucking-talented, and we would love to showcase all that cheesy love.
The first to take up the offer is our good friend and on-the-regular homie, DJ Bumbaclot, aka Andrew Veeder, aka Veedz, which is what I call him, especially when I’m yelling at him from across the bar.
VEEDZ! He is the best! LA-based and Midwest-bred, he’s an up-and-coming DJ with a broad, eclectic range. He describes himself as a “top-rated amateur and free agent”, which is pretty on-point. Oh, and he spins vinyl. You know, that stuff that people collect, and that stuff that is quickly disappearing from DJ booths? Yeah. Vinyl. Dude has everything on vinyl. Also, he’s at every good concert and show that pass through Los Angeles and is a freaking awesome concert buddy. And he’s a goddamn sweetheart about it all too. It might be that Wisconsin heart he brought with him.

“Why Don’t We Cry About It” is DJ Bumbaclot’s kinda goth mix, and it was recorded live, off decks, in one take. Dang.
I dig this:
“I will DJ your party. And you will have a blast.
Have vinyl, will travel.”
Yes, yes he will.
Enjoy!
M & J
P.S. Thanks for DJing all my parties, Veedz! - M
